HOOVER PUBLIC LIBRARY ART EXHIBIT
We are so pleased to announce the following students were chosen to have their artwork displayed at the Hoover Public Library for the annual Private School Art Show! The building itself is still closed, but the library will host an online exhibition of these outstanding pieces in August. We are so proud of these kids for their commitment to excellence, creativity, and hard work! These art pieces were chosen to represent the entire grade level: they are truly excellent. Way to go, kids!

I am thrilled to announce this year's Art Honors: please join me in celebrating the achievements of our students! A student from each grade level in lower school was chosen to receive the "Art Excellence" award. Also, middle school and high school each had one representative chosen to receive the "Going Above and Beyond" award. These students are as follows:
ART EXCELLENCE AWARDS FOR LOWER SCHOOL
This award was designated for the student who consistently exhibited strong character, respectful behavior, kindness, creativity, and artistic excellence.
K3: Rose G.
K4: Isla, Phillip, and Andrew D.
K5: Elias C.
1st Grade: McKinley D.
2nd Grade: Zoe B.
3rd Grade: Alden W. and Selah K.
4th Grade: Sadia L.
5th Grade: Samantha H.
UPPER SCHOOL ART AWARDS:
The "Art Excellence" award is designated for the student with the highest average in the class. This award goes to the student who consistently completes assignments with excellence, creativity, and great craftsmanship, following all directions.
The "Above and Beyond" award is given to the student who consistently shows a commitment to excellence in all things as well as strong Christ-like character, who experiments without fear of failure, and who works hard not only to create outstanding art but also to encourage and lift up others.
Middle School Art Excellence: Ava A., grade 6
Middle School Above and Beyond Award: Hayden R., grade 8
High School Art Excellence: Alexandria C., grade 9
High School Above and Beyond Award: Andriah G., grade 10
Finally, I would like to showcase the following Upper School students: they worked so hard this year and wound up producing five or more outstanding art pieces. We are proud of your hard work, persistence, humility, and commitment to excellence. It isn't easy to see an artwork to completion, much less this many pieces in only a few months. Most art students are proud to leave a class with just one piece to show off! Many times in making art, it is about the creative process more than the finished product. When you are trying something for the first time, it is unusual to wind up with a nice finished piece. Many of these students had never done printmaking before or made anything out of clay! We are so proud of the accomplishments of these students!
“May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.” Psalm 90:17
