6th and 7th grade artists chose their best artwork for display in an informal school show. I am so proud of them! We have worked hard over the last few months to practice drawing, painting, and printmaking techniques as we discussed art historical styles and individual artists.
Here are some of our amazing students with their work! This show was on display for just over one month. We will have another art show at the end of the year, with first, second, and third prizes awarded for drawings, paintings, and sculptures!

Welcome back! I am so excited to have my 6th and 7th graders back in art class. We have an amazing group of students this year!
The first two weeks of school, students exercised their creativity by drawing some original "Name Designs." They reviewed the elements of art and wrote about how they used each one in their design: line, color, shape, form, texture, value, and space. Then, we worked together in teams to make a paper word sculpture for the hallway! Students collaborated, invented ways to solve problems, and finished some beautiful pieces for our very first art installation. The whole hallway is dedicated to praising God - we put up as many "Names of God" as we could. Finally, we constructed our own sketchbooks to use in art class.
